And I would like to thank.....

Another class weekend weather wise meant some time spent outdoors. Which is a pretty big deal when snow is always threatening around the corner. Anyway, the Academy Awards last night were a pleasant surprise. Chris Rock was fairly entertaining as a host and the running time of 3hrs kept boredom to a fair minimum. No surprises either in the awards category although Marty has to wonder what he needs to do to win an Oscar. To be fair his best work is far behind him. The glory of Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas put's recent lemons like Gangs of New York or The Aviator to shame. He will probably get a Lifetime achievement award in the near future anyway. For me the Oscars have lost their appeal ever since they started giving crap like Forest Gump awards over quality films like Pulp Fiction.

No real suprises on the soccer front either this weekend. Chelsea were really expected to win but seemed to make heavy weather of it. It looks like they will end the season with at least one trophy although the League championship isn't a done deal by any means. Although Madchester did make heavy work of part timers Portsmouth but thanks to boy wonder Rooney, we were able to pull out 3 points.
Time to run and feed the ducks!

Well the weekend was one of the best I have had in a while. The weather was around 20C both days which is unheard of in winter for this part of the world. And I played in a 30 man Texas Hold'em Tournament on Saturday evening and took home 1st place - $620 smackeroos!! Not bad for an evenings work, although I got majorly lucky a couple of times. I guess that is needed to make it to the top.

Arielle is continuing to grow like a champ. She is now almost 9 pounds and she is not quite 4 weeks old. Her sleep patterns are not quite set yet so some nights she will sleep for 4 hours at a stretch and other nights we will only get a 2-3 hour stretch. She really is a pretty easy baby, she gets fussy at times but for the most part she is pretty mellow. Stacey and I are both hoping that she continues to be mellow :)

Our little one hanging out. Posted by Hello

Back in the Land of the Living.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I promised myself that the New Year would see me making a decent attempt to get my Blog back up and running, but as we can see......
Anyway, my decent excuse is the birth of my baby girl, Ariella Hope. She is a little angel although this parent thing is definitely tough. I don't know which is tougher: the lack of sleep or the lack of any kind of schedule. I guess the sleep thing is what it is, and it is not like people have died from getting any less sleep.

So Stacey and I soldier on trying to figure out the whole parent game. So far so good in that we haven't made to many mistakes. And I am seriously psyched that she is long and lean. I figure that by the time she is 18 Man United will allows girls in their team and she can kickabout at the Theater of Dreams alongside the greats of that time. On the subject of football I have a sneaky suspicion that this weekend will see a defeat for the Chelski at the hands of the Toon Army AND a victory against the Scousers for the Red Devils. Now if only I had the money to back up my bravado :)

That's all we have for today but I promise to now keep this blog at least fairly current!
